Job Purpose:

Interact with transportation customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products, shipping and receiving services and to handle and resolve complaints.

Essential Functions of the Job:

1. Confer with customers by telephone, email or in person to provide information about products and services, shipping and receiving, to take orders or to obtain details of same.

2. Prepare and examine bills of lading to determine shipping charges and knowledge of how to read tariffs.

3. Provide accurate rate quotes for LTL and FTL shipments.

4. Experienced with EDI.

5. Work closely with Transportation Dispatch in regards to pick-ups and deliveries.

6. Work closely with our drivers, when needed, to inquire about ETA’s or to provide any additional information needed.

7. Work closely with other departments, AR and accounting, to assist on any questions or issues they may need clarity on.

8. Advise clients on transportation and payment methods.

9. Data entry into transportation management system.

10. Prepare documents, such as bills of lading and pallet labels.

11. Heavy phones.

12. Miscellaneous office duties as required.
